The process and methods I went through to get the whole assignment completed is not that easy especially for a mass communication student who know nothing about HTML until I attended Intro. to IT subject. Sad to say that, I missed the most important class session which my lecturer taught the students on how to create HTML (valid with leave of absence). I have no idea on how to handle the assignment since I am blank with HTML knowledge. Carmen and I will be in a same group for this assignment. We able to tag along with each other because we have been working together in a while.

I was wondering why HTML codes make it hard for us to put what we wanted it to be appeared in our web page. Just simply, with a simple language that describe the codes rather than stateless language which using the tag to tell HTML codes. It drives me mad instantly. I would not forget the experience debugging the HTML codes in my life. Before Carmen and I start to study using HTML codes, one of our course mate said "HTML works in a very-very-very-very simple, logical and format. It reads like you do, top to bottom, left to right. Do not worry". Shh..(anyway, he is Ahmad Qawaouq, he's from IT school) . Till we realized this is not as simple as our friend said when we started hands-on putting HTML codes. However, thanks to Miss Sha's note (my IT lecturer) and the Internet (sources) www.htmlcodetutorial.com/quicklist.html. I am able to take it slowly and get well understand on HTML codes. Just so my luck, perhaps I am smart in technologies and yet to be discovered :)

Uploading image is not a problem for us. As long as we know how to use the right code. It is easy as spelling an A-P-P-L-E. However, in order to make it easy, create a new file for image that wish to put in the webpage. Also, I learnt that if I use the location path of the image in my computer, it only works when I open my personal webpage from my computer. However, if I want it to works when other people open our web page from Internet, I need put the images to web hosting and use the url path of the image. I learnt from experience =).

At first, we decided to choose Tripod as our web hosting server. When we are almost there, just so sudden it pop-up asking for membership fees. (omg). I thought it is a free web hosting server! Then again, we tried numbers of web hosting server and finally we chosen bravehost 'one of the largest webmaster communities on the web'. The difficulty I found in uploading the files especially images to the web server. At first, the images did not appear as we wished. It turned out blank. We tried and tried again and again and appear to require image URL. I have no idea about it. But it still ended up the same result until we uploaded the image separately then only it works. Thanks God!

I learnt to blog since I was in my secondary school at the age of 17. I blog about myself, my lifestyle, my family and friends, food and more. I almost spend my time on blogging. Hence, creating a blog or use a blog, this will not be a problem for me. This is because I love blogging!!!

Well, I felt proud. I have been gone through this assignment and struggled with all those complicated tags (duh..). Honestly, as a mass communication student, I could not imagine myself able to create MY web page. However, it is literally impossible to know everything but I already have the basics though. The advantages of using tools/ technologies I have learnt during this assignment is it makes me realized that using HTML provides an effective medium for presenting information. For instance, others able to view our information through our web page. Personally, I found it consistent and effective technologies. Since, HTML is a growing and ever evolving art, if I have the opportunity to work on this assignment again, perhaps I am able to discover something new and interesting. Maybe now I need to find a place to post the page I write for the World Wide Web :) along with the bottom line stated "author - Catherine Siew Yin Yee"
